A properly balanced vegetarian or vegan nutrition is perfectly fit to cover the nutritional needs of the child after weaning. Before weaning breastfeeding is strongly suggested. Vegetarian and vegan mother’s milk is nutritionally complete. Vegan mothers have to pay attention to their D-vitamin incomes (exposing in the sun), and B12 vitamin incomes (through fortified foods or integrators). Line seeds or line oil is also suggested.
The ADA (American Dietitian Association, the most important American association on nutrition) stated that vegetarian and vegan diets have all the nutritional elements necessary to the development and growth of children, and many epidemiological studies on vegetarian and vegan children confirm this.
