Two blind kittens rescued by OIPA. Frequently during their inspections, OIPA animal control officers encounter situations of severe neglect that not only affect dogs, but also cats. This was the case of two small kittens reported to our volunteers being abandoned in a garden. Both kittens were affected by parasites, they were severely debilitated, and had eyes seriously compromised by rhinotracheitis.
After being rescued and taken to a veterinary clinic, the little ones received first aid treatment. Regrettably, Sila has permanently lost his sight, whereas Gua, the other male, has still the potential to partially recover his vision enabling him to perceive at least certain shadows. The two kittens are currently being looked after in a foster home, where they are receiving specialized treatments, being fed high-quality kitten food, and given supplements to aid in their recovery. Once they have fully healed, they will require a caring family able to provide them with a safe and protected environment.
Let’s help volunteers guarantee Sila and Gua everything they need to get well! Medicines and veterinary checks have a considerable cost, and as soon as the little ones get better, they will require vaccinations, deworming and parasite treatments.
