Stray cat rescued with a deep neck wound. Acting promptly when stray cats are sick or injured can really save their lives, especially when they’ve been experienced major trauma like Nastrino (that means little ribbon in Italian), a stray cat looked after by OIPA’s volunteers in a small town near Salerno, in the South of Italy.

We’re not sure what Nastrino went through, but judging by the severe neck wound and the bleeding, he must have gotten himself stuck somewhere and tried to break free. An episode that serves as a stark reminder of the dangers faced by stray animals on the streets. Without the quick intervention of our volunteers, his chances of survival would have been slim.

Nastrino was fortunate to receive prompt assistance and urgent stitching at the municipal veterinary service. After being discharged, the cat was welcomed into a foster home where he could fully recover.

While it may take some time for Nastrino to fully recover, his gradual improvement can be attributed to the unwavering dedication of volunteers who provide medical treatment and feed him with specialized food.

It is imperative that we support the volunteers in covering the expenses for his essential medications and dietary needs.

Every donation can be of a great help!
