Christmas is coming and there will be an increase in pet industry sales as every year. Animals are often bought just to satisfy the whim or desire of children who will soon lose interest for their new “toy”. A toy that is instead a living being. A puppy who will grow up becoming an adult dog or cat and is supposed to spend the life together with the family.

BUT…a purchase driven by a transitory impulse, many times can be bitterly regret! Why? Because the decision is taken WITHOUT consciousness, WITHOUT thinking about long-term responsibilities and WITHOUT considering the real meaning of sharing a life with an animal.

Let’s propose you a game, something that can help you reflect on this aspect. Do you remember the game we used to play in our childhood “Odd one out”? Well, children in this game have to find the element that has nothing to do with the other words listed or pics showed. Let’s take an example, if you say to a child: “Find what is the odd out among “robot – car – dress– dog – shoe – bag”?” he will surely reply “DOG” without even hesitate because it is just obvious! Come on!

While, becoming adults we tend to lose the capacity to recognize what is obvious. Let’s be honest, we all know that animals are not objects or products! So, why do we still sell them? Simple, because people do still buy them.

Although, the law allows the sale of pets in many countries across the world, if we truly love animals we have the power to make the difference. HOW? Refusing to purchase animals.

Don’t you think it’s illogical to pay for buying a living being? Don’t you think it’s unethical to hold prisoner a pet inside the cage of a shop or a breeding farm? If your answer is YES then STOP buying animals.

It’s time to rethink ethically and conscientiously. It’s time to stop contributing to the illegal traffic of puppies or exotic animals. It’s time to choose responsibly and adopt.

And don’t forget…If you truly desire to have a pet, shelters are full of dogs and cats waiting for their family forever and able to give exactly the same love and affection of any other breed animals

❤️ DON’T FORGET… ADOPTION IS A LIFETIME COMMITMENT ❤️
