August 2016 – UPDATES
Do you remember Gru? This poor little dog was founded in the street and it had so many health problems.
With the love and care of OIPA volunteers Gru is getting better and he looks beautiful! It is almost ready for an adoption.

PHONECALL, SUNDAY, 4 AM: “There is a little dog along the street, I think he is dead, he doesn’t move. Could you do something?”. Francesca, OIPA Volunteers answer this shocking phonecall and still asleep jumped on his car to rescue the dog.
Along the street she founded a little animal, under the rain, in the dark curl up in a corner. At the first glance he looked dead, but then he moved looking at her.
Francesca brought Gru, the dog, at home. He was thirsty, hungry and could barely stand on his paws. After few huours a vet clinic took him and started the treatments.
At the moment his diagnosis is not good: damaged mussles, heart’s problems, he has leishmania, anemia, kidney failure, dermatitis, eyes’ ulcer and joint pain which cause him difficulties on eating and walking.
He is a young dog, he has just 6 years. After the first days of treatments he is starting feeling better.
Probably he was abandoned and we don’t have any other information about him, but we know for sure that he is very weak and ill and that his recovery will be long.
