OIPA International donated 100 kg of dry and wet food to Rajka, a volunteer who works tirelessly to give shelter and take care of stray cats in Banja Luka, Bosnia Herzegovina.

At the end of March, we posted the request for help of our member association Wag Wag that was asking support for this sweet lady. Rajka takes care of over 100 cats, including an outdoor feline colony on the territory of the local agricultural school. A place where cats could roam freely in nature, loved by students and protected from traffic. Unfortunately, school authorities suddenly ordered the cats to be “removed” because they were deemed to be causing problems in the greenhouses. Rajka had to relocate the colony cats but she found temporary accommodation for 30 of them indoors. Given the large number of cats, food costs are significant to handle for a single individual, and we must add expenses for litter, cleaning, and other care items, which have increased drastically.
