The OIPA’s delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Wag Wag, aims to support the incredible work of all of its volunteers, one in particularly who tirelessly cares for more than 200 stray cats. These animals are sterilized, treated, and healthy – and many of them are ready for adoption. You too can do your small part by helping Wag Wag cover veterinary expenses while waiting for the cats to find a family.

Who is Wag wag

Wag Wag, is a non-profit organization that educates about the proper attitude towards stray and owned animals. Its headquarter is in Banja Luka, in the northwest of the country. Amazing projects were created in this area, such as the Cat Hotels, facilities in which cats wandering in the area can find a safe place with food and warm kennels to sleep in.

This project is run by the many volunteers on the ground and have become necessary because of the large number of strays that have so far not been effectively managed by institutions. Wag Wag recognized and singled out the critical problems of the city shelter and all related institutions, which, by their inefficiency and ignoring any proposals, deepen the crisis of stray and neglected animals in that region.

Who are Wag Wag's volunteers

Many volunteers aid everyday Wag Wag’s team but, one of them, is very special. She is is nicknamed “The Silent Guardian” of Banja Luka’s Street Cats.

She takes care of over 100 cats, including an outdoor colony on the territory of the local agricultural school. However, things took a turn for the worse when the school authorities ordered the cats to be “removed” because they were deemed to be causing problems in the greenhouses.

The Silent Guardian wasn’t prepared for such a turn of events, but she managed to find a temporary shelter for them. The location lacks water and electricity, but it’s indoors and it’s safe, and she brings cats food and water and cares about them daily.

What WAG WAG NEEDS

Given the large number of cats, food costs are significant, and expenses for litter, cleaning, and other care items have increased drastically, Wag Wag is giving its best to help this amazing woman called “The Silent Guardian”.

The forecast of veterinary costs for treatments and procedures for 16 cats that found their homes, along with accompanying photos, is 1,869 KM (approximately 950 EUR). This amount covers rabies vaccinations, passports, microchips, and other necessary tests and vaccines required at the time.

You can make a difference. Through Wag Wag’s site you can help (also via PayPal) The Silent Guardian to continue her tireless work for strays. Even a small donation can mean one more hope for a cat’s adoption
