The treatment meted out to street dogs and cats is particularly alarming in Albania. Cruelty, abandonments, lack of sterilization, mass poisonings makes Albania a country unable to ethically deal with stray animals, and with a low level of animal welfare and protection.

Being a stray dog or cat is not that easy and volunteers have to deal with emergencies on a daily basis. They do often not sleep at night because they struggle to find a place where to keep the animals safe or financial resources to help those in need of vet care and sterilization.

This is the case of our member league association Animal Rescue Albania (ARSA). Volunteers receive requests for help 24/7 trying their best to tirelessly take care of stray and abandoned four paws in Tirana, however the number of animals in need is so high that they are no longer able to bear costs and emergency calls.

ARSA volunteers are urgently ask for help on a couple of emergencies. They are in a hurry to sterilize about 15 cats in two colonies and lend a hand to some dogs and puppies left on the street.
