Following a filed report of suspected cruelty to animals, our animal control guards in Italy began to investigate.
Verified the deplorable conditions in which several dogs were forced to live, all animals were immediately seized in collaboration with local police. Twenty dogs – included 6 puppies – were found living in a situation of total neglect, in poor hygienic conditions, sharing the few space available along with piles of dirt, excrements, items accumulated and food scraps.
Considering the terrible conditions and the bad health state of dogs, an urgent and immediate measure was necessary to save their lives. All dogs were transferred to the municipal shelter to receive proper care, while the guardian who held them in that condition is now being investigated for animal abuse pursuant to article 544-ter of the Italian Criminal Law.
Once the criminal case will be determined, all dogs can be adopted.
