Ms. Nisha Subramanian Kunju, a Mumbai based animal welfare and rights, environment protection, social and right to Information – RTI activist has been appointed as new OIPA International Representative for Maharashtra State in India.
Nisha is co-founder and secretary of Amma Care Foundation (ACF) a national level NGO, treasurer of Plant & Animals Welfare Society – Mumbai (PAWS-Mumbai),Honorary Animal Welfare Officer associated with Committee to Monitor Animal Welfare Laws in Maharashtra, which is appointed by The Bombay High Court and Government of Maharashtra and also Volunteer of Wildlife Crime Control Bureau. She is recipient of “100 Women of India” Award from Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India and global awards like “Karmaveer Chakra & Karmaveer Puraskar” from iCONGO.
Nisha declared: “Since my school days I’ve started working for the noble cause of animal welfare and rights, it’s now around 25 years. After I was nominated as OIPA International Representative for Maharashtra State, it is my duty and responsibility to take-up various animal related issues as OIPA representative along with our NGO ACF and PAWS-Mumbai activities”.
